Introduction
DeviceDirector is a provisioning system for VoIP services, giving service providers full control of the customers' configuration, service activation, software and firmware updates. Mass-deploying large numbers of end-user devices has always been a challenging task for service providers. No matter if the devices are hardphones or softphones, there will always be a number or parameters and settings that must be configured, firmware revisions to be checked and users authenticated. Most devices include some sort of provisioning functionality, but all vendors use different techniques and have not always thought about the server side of the provisioning. VoIP service providers of today know that in reality they must deploy end-user devices from many different vendors to fulfill customer expectations. DeviceDirector offers an integrated and feature-rich solution for service providers.
